Production and warehouse teams must record stock and movements reliably—especially when workers put away, pick, or relocate goods manually. IdentPro GmbH focuses on warehouse optimization and material tracking; for use with a warehouse execution system (WES), they needed a mobile client that runs on rugged handhelds, supports scanning, and avoids unnecessary menu depth. Mis-picks and mis-scans are costly—so the app had to mirror clear processes and align with the existing system landscape.
Devices and UX
Zebra Android devices are common in many warehouses: physical keys, readable displays, and integrated barcode imagers. A generic consumer phone app without scanner integration would miss the point. The solution had to target the hardware explicitly, reduce typing, and stay stable across shifts and lighting conditions—while remaining maintainable and extensible for long-term cooperation.

Ionic app for Android and Zebra
We delivered an Android app using the Ionic framework that covers manual warehouse flows: putaway, picking, and relocation with guided steps and scan-driven input. The UI is tuned for Zebra devices—large tap targets, clear status, and consistent use of the built-in barcode scanner so staff do not juggle camera apps and warehouse dialogs. Integration with backend and WES services uses well-defined REST APIs so data flows remain traceable and testable.

We worked with IdentPro through clear remote channels (video, email) without unnecessary travel, but with structured reviews and acceptance.
