  Copilot for Microsoft 365 processes prompts and work data under Microsoft's commercial data-protection commitments; Microsoft states that this customer data is not used to train foundation models. Data residency still depends on tenant and service configuration.

  Copilot only accesses data the signed-in user already can see. Your tenant data is not used to train Copilot models. With EU data residency configured, processing stays in the EU. Permission hygiene remains your responsibility.
