Emissions Reporting Dashboard – Fleet Emissions & Compliance
Web dashboard to capture, monitor, and analyse fleet emissions for shipping companies: reliable metrics, automated reporting, and transparency for international environmental requirements—built by Groenewold IT Solutions in Leer, East Frisia (Made in Germany).
Emissions Reporting Dashboard – Fleet Emissions & Compliance
Environment & Sustainability
The Challenge
For projects in this vein, our web development service offering describes how we scope, build and support comparable deliveries from Germany.
Regulatory pressure and fragmented data
International shipping faces strict rules on greenhouse gases, fuel use, and reporting obligations; depending on routes and charter arrangements, different reporting chains and deadlines apply. Without a unified view per vessel, voyage, and period, emissions data stays spread across spreadsheets, telemetry feeds, and operational systems—manual consolidation costs time and increases the risk of errors during audits and evidence requests.
From raw data to auditable reports
Operators and sustainability teams need more than raw values: they need traceable aggregations by fleet, vessel, and time window—including drill-down for anomalies and plausibility checks. Business users without an IT background must still work with the tool: clear visualisations, recurring report templates, and exports that fit existing QA and compliance workflows.
Legacy software and a new web layer
Many maritime environments combine proven specialist software with the need for a modern browser dashboard. The challenge is to connect existing logic and data sources (including older components) to a maintainable web tier—without duplicate data stores and without weakening security and role concepts.
Our Solution

Central dashboard with Laravel and Vue.js
We implemented a clearly structured Laravel backend that consolidates, validates, and serves emissions and operational data for analytics. The Vue.js frontend presents KPIs, trends, and detail views in a responsive, fast UI—from fleet overview down to vessel-level time series. Users move seamlessly from orientation to exportable evidence.
Integration via Delphi and stable interfaces
Where existing Delphi assets or specialist modules remain in use, we designed integration so data reaches the web platform reliably and is processed consistently. Interfaces, permissions, and traceability of data flows matter—so reports are not only visually convincing but also hold up under internal and external scrutiny.
Engineering Made in Germany
Design and development were delivered by Groenewold IT Solutions in East Frisia: short communication paths, pragmatic prioritisation of must-have reports, and an architecture that allows extensions (additional vessels, new KPIs, more export formats) without rebuilding the platform from scratch.
Results
Less manual preparation, more transparency
Operations and sustainability stakeholders share one source of truth: recurring reporting tasks can be automated, deviations between vessels and periods become visible, and decisions on fuel and routing strategies can rely on solid metrics—instead of scattered spreadsheet chains.
Reference for maritime web and reporting solutions
The project shows how we translate industry-specific compliance and reporting needs into a modern web solution—from data integration to user-friendly analytics. If you are planning a comparable dashboard for fleets, environmental KPIs, or regulated reporting, this reference is a concrete example from our practice.
Compliance and reporting in context
International rules and day-to-day operations
Maritime environmental rules continue to evolve; organisations benefit from systems that capture current KPIs and remain extensible when reporting duties or internal targets change. The dashboard addresses this through structured data storage and configurable analytics—without treating every change as a one-off coding project.
Audit trail and export formats
Compliance teams need traceable data paths: which raw values fed which report, who approved which aggregation. Exports in common formats support internal reviews and external evidence—without manual rework in spreadsheet chains.
Technical integration and legacy
Delphi connectivity without duplicate stores
Existing Delphi modules still deliver domain logic; the web tier consumes cleansed data through defined interfaces. That avoids a parallel data universe that drifts apart on updates.
Roles for fleet, vessel, and management
Captains, fleet managers, and sustainability leads see different dashboards—with consistent KPIs but appropriate depth per role.

Common questions about emissions and ESG reporting
Why is emissions reporting often a data project, not just a reporting project?
Because consumption, supplier and activity data usually has to be consolidated from multiple systems. Without reliable data paths, ESG reporting stays manual, slow and hard to verify. That is why API integration and automation are core building blocks.
Which ESG reporting processes can be automated?
Typical candidates are data collection, validation checks, rules-based calculations and preparation for audits or management reporting. That makes reports not only faster but also more consistent. This aligns very well with automation and RPA workflows.
How does automation improve traceability and auditability?
If sources, timestamps and calculation steps are logged cleanly, figures become far easier to explain and defend later. That is often decisive in ESG contexts. In such cases, automation works hand in hand with our automation references.
When does reporting turn into a strategic advantage?
When companies do more than meet reporting obligations and start using the data for steering, supplier evaluation and investment decisions. At that point, ESG reporting becomes a true management process. Technically, it is usually a mix of API integration and automation.
