The Challenge

Regulatory pressure and fragmented data

International shipping faces strict rules on greenhouse gases, fuel use, and reporting obligations; depending on routes and charter arrangements, different reporting chains and deadlines apply. Without a unified view per vessel, voyage, and period, emissions data stays spread across spreadsheets, telemetry feeds, and operational systems—manual consolidation costs time and increases the risk of errors during audits and evidence requests.

From raw data to auditable reports

Operators and sustainability teams need more than raw values: they need traceable aggregations by fleet, vessel, and time window—including drill-down for anomalies and plausibility checks. Business users without an IT background must still work with the tool: clear visualisations, recurring report templates, and exports that fit existing QA and compliance workflows.

Legacy software and a new web layer

Many maritime environments combine proven specialist software with the need for a modern browser dashboard. The challenge is to connect existing logic and data sources (including older components) to a maintainable web tier—without duplicate data stores and without weakening security and role concepts.

Central dashboard with Laravel and Vue.js

We implemented a clearly structured Laravel backend that consolidates, validates, and serves emissions and operational data for analytics. The Vue.js frontend presents KPIs, trends, and detail views in a responsive, fast UI—from fleet overview down to vessel-level time series. Users move seamlessly from orientation to exportable evidence.

Integration via Delphi and stable interfaces

Where existing Delphi assets or specialist modules remain in use, we designed integration so data reaches the web platform reliably and is processed consistently. Interfaces, permissions, and traceability of data flows matter—so reports are not only visually convincing but also hold up under internal and external scrutiny.

Engineering Made in Germany

Design and development were delivered by Groenewold IT Solutions in East Frisia: short communication paths, pragmatic prioritisation of must-have reports, and an architecture that allows extensions (additional vessels, new KPIs, more export formats) without rebuilding the platform from scratch.

Less manual preparation, more transparency

Operations and sustainability stakeholders share one source of truth: recurring reporting tasks can be automated, deviations between vessels and periods become visible, and decisions on fuel and routing strategies can rely on solid metrics—instead of scattered spreadsheet chains.
