Knowledge & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions About Web Applications
Technology & Frameworks
What technologies do you use for web projects?
Frontend: React, Next.js, Vue.js for modern, reactive user interfaces. Backend: Laravel (PHP), Node.js, Python. Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB. For e-commerce: Magento, Shopware, WooCommerce. We choose the technology to match your requirements.
Do you also develop with WordPress?
Yes, for content-heavy websites and blogs, WordPress is often the right choice. For more complex applications with custom logic, we recommend tailored solutions with Laravel or React – more flexibility, better performance.
What is the difference between a website and a web application?
A website primarily presents content (company presence, blog). A web application enables interaction and business logic (booking system, dashboard, portal). The boundaries are blurring – modern websites often have app character.

E-Commerce & Online-Shops
Magento, Shopware, or WooCommerce – what do you recommend?
Shopware: German standard, strong in B2C, good balance of features and costs. Magento: Enterprise solution for large catalogs and complex B2B scenarios. WooCommerce: Affordable for smaller shops with WordPress base. We advise individually.
Can you extend our existing shop?
Yes, we take over existing shops (after code audit), fix technical debt, develop custom plugins/extensions, and integrate third-party systems (ERP, PIM, CRM). Migration to new versions is also included.
How do you integrate payment providers?
We integrate all common payment providers: PayPal, Stripe, Klarna, Mollie, Adyen, PAYONE, and more. PCI-DSS compliance is observed – sensitive data stays with the provider. Custom payment integrations are also possible.
Project Process & Timeline
What does a typical web project look like?
1. Discovery: Requirements, concept, wireframes. 2. Design: UI/UX, Prototyping. 3. Development: Agile sprints with regular demos on staging environment. 4. Testing: QA, Performance, Security. 5. Launch: Go-live with monitoring. 6. Operations: Maintenance and further development.
How long does it take to develop a web application?
Simple website/landing page: 2-4 weeks. Business portal: 2-4 months. E-commerce shop (Shopware/Magento): 3-6 months. Complex web application: 4-12 months. Agile development enables early partial releases.
Can we test during development?
Yes, you get access to the staging environment and see sprint results every 2 weeks. Feedback flows directly into the next iteration. Transparency and close collaboration are important to us.

Have a specific web project?
We create a transparent project plan after the briefing.

Costs & Budget
What does a web application cost?
Simple website: from EUR 5,000 plus VAT. Business portal/dashboard: EUR 20,000-60,000 plus VAT. E-commerce shop (Shopware/Magento): EUR 30,000-100,000+ plus VAT. Complex web application: EUR 50,000-200,000+. After the briefing, we create a detailed cost plan.
Fixed price or time and materials?
Both possible. Fixed price for clearly defined scope (e.g., standard shop). Time & material for agile projects with evolving requirements. Hybrid models (fixed price for MVP, then effort-based) are often the best solution.
What ongoing costs are there?
Hosting: EUR 50-500/month plus VAT (depending on traffic and requirements). Maintenance: 10-20% of development costs/year plus VAT. Possibly license costs (Shopware, Magento Commerce). We offer transparent maintenance contracts.
Hosting & Maintenance
Do you also handle hosting?
Yes, we offer managed hosting on German servers (GDPR-compliant). Alternatively, we deploy to your cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or on your servers. We configure staging, CI/CD, and monitoring.
How do you ensure performance?
Through optimized architecture, caching (Redis, Varnish), CDN integration, database optimization, and lazy loading. We measure Core Web Vitals and optimize continuously. Performance is an ongoing topic, not a one-time feature.
How are security updates applied?
Within maintenance contracts: regular updates for framework, CMS, and dependencies. Critical security patches within 24-48 hours. Tests on staging before production deployment. Security monitoring included.
Can we maintain the web application ourselves?
Yes, we build intuitive admin interfaces and train your team. Content management, product administration, etc. you can handle yourself. For technical development and complex changes, we are at your service.

Web Applications: Custom Platforms for Complex Requirements
Web applications form the backbone of the digital infrastructure of modern enterprises. Unlike simple websites, they are interactive platforms that map business processes, process data, and provide users with complex functionality – from customer portals to internal management systems to SaaS products with thousands of concurrent users. Our web app references show how we have implemented these demanding requirements for companies across various industries.
Technologically, we rely on proven frameworks like React, Next.js, Angular, and Vue.js in the frontend, combined with robust backend architectures based on Node.js, Laravel, .NET, or Python. The choice of technology always depends on the specific requirements of the project: How many users will access simultaneously? What security requirements exist? Does the application need to work offline? What existing systems need to be integrated?
Our projects range from data-intensive dashboards for business intelligence, to booking platforms with real-time availability and multilingual e-commerce systems with complex pricing logic, to workflow management tools that fully digitize paper-based processes. In each of these projects, we place special emphasis on performance, accessibility, and security – three aspects that are often neglected in web applications but are crucial for success.
We are particularly proud of the long-term partnerships that have grown from many of these projects. A web application is not a static product but evolves continuously. New requirements, growing user numbers, and changing market conditions require regular adjustments. We accompany our clients with agile development methods, transparent communication, and the commitment to make every application not only functional but also architecturally clean and future-proof.
All shown web applications were fully developed, hosted, and maintained in Germany. This guarantees not only compliance with GDPR and the highest data protection standards but also smooth support without language barriers or time zone issues. When a problem occurs, we react quickly – not the next morning because the development team is on another continent.
